Disc Alnico Magnets

They can retain stable magnetic properties even under harsh conditions such as high temperatures, vibration and strong magnetic field interference. As a widely used permanent magnetic material, they are extensively applied in precision instruments, sensors, motors, electro-acoustic components and high-temperature equipment. With a simple disc structure for easy assembly, they fit industrial scenarios requiring long-term consistent magnetic fields.

Dimensions & Specifications:Custom outer diameter & thickness available on demand
Surface Coatings:Bare disc Alnico magnets
Operating Temperature:≤600℃

Product Details

Disc Alnico magnets adopt thin disc as basic shape, with dimensions defined by outer diameter and thickness. They deliver stable and reliable magnetic performance, and their magnetic force is barely affected by temperature fluctuations. Thus they are ideal for working conditions that demand consistent magnetic fields and experience wide ambient temperature variations.

Compared with NdFeB and samarium-cobalt magnets, Alnico magnets have relatively lower magnetic energy product, yet they stand out in temperature stability and anti-demagnetization capacity. They are particularly suitable for high-temperature, precision and long-term stable operation applications.

1. Material Composition

Disc Alnico magnets mainly consist of aluminum, nickel, cobalt, iron, copper and other metallic elements, manufactured by high-temperature smelting, casting or sintering processes. Different grades deliver differentiated magnetic properties and temperature stability by adjusting metal ratios and heat treatment procedures.

2. Product Classification

Alnico magnets are categorized into cast Alnico and sintered Alnico. Cast Alnico features stable internal structure and cost advantages, suitable for general industrial applications; sintered Alnico owns more uniform internal microstructure and consistent magnetic performance, perfect for precision instruments and high-performance scenarios.

3. Production Process

Cast Alnico: Raw material proportioning → smelting → casting → heat treatment → precision machining → surface treatment → magnetization for finished products

Sintered Alnico: Raw material proportioning → powder blending → compression molding → sintering → heat treatment → machining → surface treatment → magnetization for finished products

Both processes can produce various shapes including discs, cylinders, squares and special-shaped custom magnets.

4. Surface Treatment

Alnico magnets have natural excellent oxidation resistance, and passivation treatment is sufficient for standard working environments. For strict requirements on appearance and anti-corrosion performance, nickel plating, zinc plating and epoxy coating are optional to improve surface smoothness and environmental adaptability.

5. Main Applications

Precision measuring instruments, temperature sensors, motors, electro-acoustic components, relays, magnetic chucks, high-temperature equipment, petroleum testing instruments, aerospace fittings, military electronic components, and all magnetic systems requiring long-term stable magnetic output.
